Pitney Bowes Achieves IL4 Provisional Authorization for SendPro® 360 Platform Solutions, Expanding Secure Shipping and Mailing Capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense

Pitney Bowes (NYSE: PBI), a technology-driven company that provides digital shipping solutions, mailing innovation, and financial services to clients around the world, today announced it has achieved Provisional Authorization for Impact Level 4 (IL4) for its SendPro® 360 platform solutions. This milestone enables U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agencies and authorized defense contractors to leverage SendPro 360 to manage shipping and mailing operations in alignment with stringent DoD cloud security requirements.

The Provisional Authorization, granted through the DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG) process, validates that SendPro 360 meets the rigorous controls required to process and store Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and other mission-sensitive data at Impact Level 4. This provides defense agencies and supporting organizations with confidence that Pitney Bowes’ cloud-based shipping and mailing platform aligns with DoD cybersecurity and risk management standards.

“Achieving IL4 Provisional Authorization reflects our continued investment in delivering secure, compliant solutions for the public sector,” said Todd Everett, Executive Vice President and President of Sending Technology Solutions, Pitney Bowes. “Government and defense organizations operate in complex, highly regulated environments. With SendPro 360, they can streamline shipping and mailing operations while meeting the highest standards for data protection and operational resilience.”

Secure, Scalable Shipping and Mailing for Mission-Critical Environments

SendPro 360 is an enterprise shipping and mailing platform designed to centralize carrier management, automate shipping workflows, control costs and provide real-time visibility across distributed locations. With IL4 Provisional Authorization, DoD agencies and authorized contractors can deploy SendPro 360 to:

  • Manage mailing and multi-carrier shipping across field offices while enforcing sending policies and automating compliance controls

  • Track inbound packages and manage secure distribution through integrated smart locker systems for controlled pickup and chain-of-custody

  • Enhance tracking, reporting and audit readiness

  • Protect CUI and other sensitive information within a secure cloud environment

In addition to its IL4 Provisional Authorization, Pitney Bowes has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 1.0 certification. These milestones build on Pitney Bowes’ broader commitment to public sector compliance, including prior FedRAMP and GovRAMP authorizations for the cloud-based SendPro 360 platform. Together, these credentials underscore the company’s ability to meet the evolving cybersecurity and risk management needs of federal, state and local government agencies.

Enabling Modernization Across Defense Logistics

As defense agencies modernize supply chains and digitize back-office operations, secure cloud platforms play a critical role in improving efficiency and accountability. By achieving IL4 Provisional Authorization, Pitney Bowes helps ensure that shipping and mailing operations can be integrated into secure digital ecosystems that support mission readiness.

“Modern logistics require both agility and security,” added Todd Everett. “With SendPro 360 now authorized at IL4, defense organizations can confidently modernize shipping and mailing processes without compromising compliance.”
