Claim indexing against seasonal August and September norms revealed that Select Home Warranty’s “stress points” for kitchen work at home were:
– Refrigerators Rise (+43%): Index of refrigerator claims at 1.43x compared to the baseline during Labor Day. It is the most significant deviation found among all types of home appliances.
– Stoves/Ovens Increase (+39%): Claims for cooking appliances reach 1.39x compared to the baseline as preparation for the holiday feast peaks.
Data highlights the distinct pressures of festive hospitality on household equipment. Constantly opening the fridge door on hot summer days, overloading the shelves with party trays, and operating kitchen appliances nonstop for big parties often put older equipment to the test.
