LONDON, Sept. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Smart Communications, a leading customer engagement technology provider for regulated industries, today announced its strongest-ever first-half bookings performance. Bookings increased 17% year over year, reflecting increased investment by organizations seeking to modernize critical customer interactions amid rising regulatory and operational complexity. The company also delivered strong gross revenue retention, demonstrating the long-term value of its platform, the resilience of its business, and the strength of its enterprise customer relationships.
This performance comes as enterprises move beyond traditional communications management toward platforms that connect, govern, and optimize interactions across the entire customer journey. The growing adoption of AI is accelerating this shift while increasing the importance of governance, compliance, and human oversight.
“This momentum validates both the strategy we have pursued and the platform we’ve built. Regulated enterprises are under pressure to harness the potential of AI without introducing greater fragmentation, risk, or complexity. Increasingly, they are turning to Smart Communications to help them do that with confidence,” said Leigh Segall, CEO of Smart Communications. “Our record bookings growth and strong customer retention are clear evidence that this shift is accelerating. Customers are choosing Smart Communications, not only to modernize mission-critical processes, but also to deliver more intelligent, trusted, and connected experiences across the customer journey.”
Recognized for leadership across customer engagement, experience, and governance
Smart Communications continues to earn recognition from several leading industry analysts in 2026, highlighting the breadth of its capabilities across communications, intelligent data collection, journey orchestration, workflow automation, information management, and governance.
The company was named a Leader in the QKS Group ‘SPARK Matrix for Digital Communications Governance and Archiving’, Aragon ‘Research Globe for Workflow and Content Automation’, Omdia ‘Universe for Customer Communications Management’, and the QKS Group ‘SPARK Matrix for Customer Communications Management’. Smart Communications was also recognized as a leader across four Aspire Leaderboard grids spanning customer communications management and interaction experience management.
Collectively, these recognitions underscore Smart Communications’ evolution beyond traditional customer communications management into a broader customer engagement platform, supporting the full lifecycle from data capture and intelligent communications to journey orchestration and digital archiving.
Strengthening collaboration with enterprise customers
In 2026, Smart Communications launched a global Customer Advisory Board comprising senior executives from leading financial services, insurance and healthcare organizations, including Lloyds Banking Group, Blue Shield of California, Vodafone Three, Farm Bureau Financial Services, Northern Trust, Hagerty Insurance, New York Life, Frankenmuth Insurance, Shelter Mutual Insurance, and CNA Financial. The Board brings important customer and industry perspectives to the company’s strategy and innovation efforts, while providing members with a forum to exchange best practices, discuss shared challenges, and explore emerging opportunities.
Adding proven leaders to support the company’s next phase of growth
Smart Communications strengthened its executive leadership team with the appointments of Rachel Elias-Jones as Chief Financial Officer and Chris Manton-Jones as Chief Commercial and Revenue Officer. Their appointments bring significant experience scaling global technology businesses and navigating periods of rapid growth and transformation, further strengthening the company’s ability to execute its long-term strategy.
Elias-Jones leads the company’s financial and operational functions following Cinven’s strategic investment in the company. A chartered accountant with deep technology-sector experience, she previously held roles as CFO of Bango Plc and SVP Finance at Darktrace, where she helped support the cybersecurity company through a period of rapid growth, including its 2021 public listing and its 2024 acquisition by Thoma Bravo. She now brings that experience to Smart Communications as it invests in its platform, strengthens its operational foundations and scales to support the next phase of growth.
Manton-Jones brings more than 25 years of technology leadership experience and a proven track record of scaling global software businesses. Before joining Smart Communications, he served as CEO of U.S. cybersecurity company Cobalt. He previously spent 6 years at LogMeIn first as General Manager of International Markets and ultimately as Chief Revenue Officer. As a member of its Executive Leadership Team, he helped drive the company’s growth from $270 million to $1.4 billion. He now leads Smart Communications’ global commercial and revenue strategy, with a focus on strengthening go-to-market execution, expanding market reach, and helping customers realize greater value from the platform.
